Project Description

Nub, in collaboration with Illuminos, Plymouth City Council and Plymouth Museum and Art Gallery staged two days of Projection Mapping. This epic project celebrated 100 years since the three towns of Devonport, Stonehouse, and Plymouth were brought together into a single city. Using video projection and audio, three sites, one in each of the towns that formed Plymouth 100 years ago, were simultaneously illuminated and animated with projection mapping technologies, like ‘pillars of fire in the night’. Each would formed a gathering point for collections of sounds, images, and creations collected from the inhabitants of the area around it, themed to Port, House and Mouth. These then converged on the second night to the city centre, where Plymouth Guildhall and Civic Centre building were dramatically united in projection.

Nub provided technical production services at some of Plymouth’s most historic landmarks to celebrate the 100 year anniversary of the amalgamation of Plymouth, Stonehouse and Devonport to form the city as it is today. The imaginative graphic design and artistic projection mapping works, were deployed and supported by Nub’s flexible inventory of Sound, Lighting, Power, Staging, Rigging and Accessories.

Nub supplied L-Acoustics Kara, Fohhn Xperience and Opus CS Series sound reinforcement systems across the 5 sites along with full event power distribution, cable ramp, pedestrian barrier, access equipment and Media Servers. In addition to equipment rental, Nub managed logistics and technical production for the event ensuring that all sites were serviced and run in an efficient and safe manner.
